The fine print

Privacy Policy

Effective July 10, 2026 · applies to the Nūs app and this website (pdaime.github.io/nus)

Nūs was built around one idea: we shouldn't be able to see your data. The app has no server, no database, and no accounts, so most privacy policies' scariest sections simply don't apply here. This page explains, plainly, what little is touched and by whom.

1. The Nūs app

Nūs itself collects nothing. No telemetry, no analytics, no phoning home. Your syllabi, deadlines, notes, and goals live as plain text files on your own machine. You can open and read every file it writes. Delete the folder and it's gone. The source code is public, so you don't have to take our word for it.

One thing to understand: Nūs runs on Claude Code, Anthropic's AI tool. When you ask Nūs to read a syllabus or write a brief, that content is processed by Anthropic's Claude models under your own Claude account. That relationship is between you and Anthropic and is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We never see any of it.

Installing via npx create-nus downloads the kit from the npm registry (run by GitHub); npm's standard download logs apply, same as installing any package.

2. This website

The site is a static page hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses:

3. The waitlist and idea form

If you choose to join the hosted-app waitlist or submit a feature idea, the form is run by Tally (Tally's privacy policy). We receive what you type, usually just an email address.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Since the only personal data we can hold is a voluntarily submitted email address, exercising these rights is simple: email us and we'll handle it, normally within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

5. Children

This site and the waitlist are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child submitted an email, contact us and we'll delete it.

6. Changes

If this policy changes (for example, when the hosted app launches with real accounts, it will get its own, longer policy), the update will be posted here with a new effective date.

7. Contact
